Child sexual abuse hurts. The impact on a child can be devastating and last a lifetime. Millions of dollars are spent each year to resolve claims and address the impact of abuse. For schools, that money is taken right from the classroom.
The weCARE program is a child sexual abuse prevention toolkit, developed through a collaborative partnership of K-12 public school pools, representing hundreds of school districts and county offices of education, and caring for over half a million children. Together, our goal is to educate K-12 schools on how to recognize, prevent and properly respond to child sexual abuse and, ultimately, to protect kids.
NBSIA has partnered with Praesidium, a nationally recognized leader in child sexual abuse prevention, to bring our members resources to help keep children safe. Among these resources are a series of online training videos designed to educate school staff and volunteers on how to recognize, respond to and prevent abuse.
These videos are available to NBSIA PL Members at no cost through Vector Solutions. Please contact your training administrator or NBSIA for access information. Access additional information regarding online training through Praesidium Academy, as well as a description of the available online training courses.
